Blocking Clock-Ins Outside the Geofence
When enabled, this setting blocks clock-in time punches when the user is shown as outside the location's geofence.
Disclaimer & Troubleshooting
Enabling this setting will prevent users from clocking in when shown as outside the geofence. This helps ensure that users are on-site at the time of clock-in.
However, enabling this setting may not be suitable for all accounts. We advise against enabling this setting if:
- Your locations commonly have GPS interference. This can sometimes be caused by stormy weather, large obstacles (such as surrounding mountains or tall buildings), radio signals, etc.
- Increasing the size of the location's geofence may help prevent issues caused by interference.
- Your locations have poor GPS accuracy. This is sometimes seen in very rural areas.
- The majority of your employees frequently have issues with GPS accuracy on their devices.
- Ensuring that your employees have the correct location permissions enabled on their devices can help prevent this issue.
This setting will not block clock-outs shown as outside the geofence.
If the issue continues, try increasing the size of the location's geofence.
Enabling the Setting
To enable this setting, please reach out to your Account Manager or our Customer Support Team. The setting cannot be enabled directly from your account.
When enabled, this setting affects all employees and locations within the account.
Standard Clock-In
When enabled, users will only be able to view and select locations where they are currently within the geofence when making a standard time punch from JM Connect.
This prevents users from clocking into locations that they are currently not within the geofence for.
