Open schedules are unassigned shifts employees can claim. These can be used to offer additional work to specified users or groups.

Open Types
Open Type determines who can claim the schedule.
- Open For All (Job Class) - Any trained employee with the selected job class can claim the schedule.
- Select Employee - Any selected employee can claim the schedule.
Creating Open Schedules
Open schedules can be one-time or recurring.
From Web
- Go to Customers > Manage Schedules.
- Click + Add Schedule.
- For recurring schedules, open the Recurring tab, then click + Add Recurring Schedule.
- Select a Customer and Location.
- Select Open as the Schedule Type, then choose the Open Type.
- Adjust any other schedule details, then select Draft or Publish.
- Draft (Unpublished) schedules cannot be claimed.
From JM Connect
- Tap the Manage Schedule, then tap the + icon.
- Select a Customer and Location.
- Select Open as the Schedule Type, then choose the Open Type.
- Adjust any other schedule details, then select Save.
- The schedule will be Published automatically.
Claiming Open Schedules
Employees can claim open schedules from JM Connect.
- Open JM Connect and tap My Schedule.
- Find available schedules under the Open Schedule section.
- Select Next to change the selected date.
- Swipe left on a schedule and tap the Details icon.
- Review details and tap Claim.
Require Claim Approval
Enabling this setting requires user approval for schedule claims via the web portal, ensuring managerial oversight when multiple employees request the same schedule.
Enabling Claim Approval
- When creating an open schedule on web, enable Require Claim Approval.
Approving Claims
- Go to Customers > Manage Schedules.
- Click the Employees icon in the Actions column for an open schedule.
- Click Approve or Reject for any open Claims.
Assigning Open Schedules
Open schedules can be assigned to employees from the web portal.
- Go to Customers > Manage Schedules.
- Click Assign in the Actions column on an open schedule.
- Choose a user from the Employee dropdown.
- Only employees eligible to claim the schedule are visible.
- Click Assign.
Open Schedule Notifications
Users must have the My Schedule icon enabled on JM Connect to receive the following notifications.
New Open Schedule
Eligible employees are notified when an open schedule is published.
Claimed Open Schedule
Any users with the Manager user type are notified when an open schedule is claimed at a trained location.
