Schedule rules control when users are allowed to clock in and out for scheduled shifts. This setting can be used to limit how early employees clock into shifts and how late they can clock out after their scheduled time.

Adding Schedule Rules
Web Portal

Go to Customers > Manage Schedules.

Add or edit a schedule.

Open the Advanced tab.

Enable Apply Schedule Rules and adjust the limits.

Click Publish or Draft to save.
JM Connect
- Tap the Manage Schedule icon.
- Add or edit a schedule.
- Enable Apply Schedule Rules and adjust the limits.
- Tap Save to add or update the schedule.
Limit Types

Clock In Limits - Allows clock-in only within X minutes before/after the shift start time.
In the example below, if a schedule starts at 9:00 AM, the employee can only clock in between 8:55 AM and 9:10 AM. -
Clock Out Limits - Allows clock-out only within X minutes before/after the shift end time.
In the example below, if a schedule ends at 5:00 PM, the employee cannot clock out before 4:45 PM or after 5:30 PM. -
Shift Duration Limits - The minimum duration (minutes) an employee must work before clocking out, and the maximum duration they can stay clocked in.
Blocked Punches Report
Reports > Time > Blocked Punches
Shows a history of clock-in/out attempts that were blocked by schedule rules.
FAQ
Question: What do employees see when their punch is blocked?
Answer: Employees will receive a popup on JM Connect letting them know their clock-in/out failed for being outside the scheduled window.
