What are Global Checklists?
Global checklists can be copied to locations and work orders. Once copied, you can edit the checklist without changing the original global version.
Using global checklists saves time if you need to create the same type of checklist for multiple locations or work orders.
Creating Global Checklists
Global checklists are added from the web portal.
Users must have the Checklist Manager security setting enabled to manage Global Checklists.
- Go to Customers > Global Checklists.
- Fill in the fields.
- Name* - Checklist title, visible to employees on JM Connect.
- Description - An internal summary of the checklist's purpose.
- Make Day Specific? - The checklist will only be visible to clocked-in users on the chosen days. This only applies to location checklists.
- Click Save to create the global checklist.
Adding Tasks
- Go to Customers > Global Checklists.
- Click the Tasks button in the Actions column for an existing global checklist.
- Click + Add New.
- Fill in the information.

Add in Bulk or Add One at a Time*

Add in Bulk - Separate lines will be added as individual tasks. This is used to add several tasks at once.
- Add One at a Time - Add a single task.

- Task* - Task name.
- Instructions - Task description or additional details.
- Mandatory or Optional* - When completing checklists on JM Connect, all Mandatory tasks must be completed to complete the checklist. Optional tasks can be marked Skipped.

Copying Global Checklists
Global checklists can be copied to locations and work orders.
Copying to Locations
- Go to Customers > Manage Locations.
- Click the Edit Pencil in the Actions column for a location.
- Open the Checklist tab.
- Enable Show Global Checklists.
- Global checklists will be visible in the list. The name will be bold.
- Click Copy in the Actions column on a global checklist.
- The checklist will be added as '[global checklist name]_Copy'.
Copying to Work Orders
- Go to Work Management > Manage Work Orders.
- Add a new work order, or click the Edit Pencil in the Actions column for an existing work order.
- Open the Checklist tab.
- Enable Show Global Checklists.
- Global checklists will be visible in the list. The name will be bold.
- Click Copy in the Actions column on a global checklist.
- The checklist will be added as '[global checklist name]_Copy'.
Editing & Deleting Global Checklists
Editing/deleting global checklists do not affect copies.
Editing
- Go to Customers > Global Checklists.
- Click the Edit Pencil in the Actions column.
- Edit fields, then click Save to confirm.
Deleting
Deleted global checklists cannot be restored.
- Go to Customers > Global Checklists.
- Click the Delete button the Actions column.
- Confirm the prompt to permanently delete the global checklist.
FAQ
Question: Will editing/deleting a global checklist affect copies already added to locations and work orders?
Answer: No, editing/deleting a global checklist will not affect copies.
