Public Files with QR Codes
Files in File Storage can be attached to a QR code. These QR Codes can be scanned by anyone, including employees, clients, and the general public.
Folders need to be established in your account before Instructional Media can be uploaded. Click here to learn more about File Storage in Janitorial Manager.
Adding Public Files
- From the web, navigate to Tools > File Storage.
- Select the Files tab.
- Select + Add File.
- For File Category, select External.
- Add the required information:
- Name - The name of the file. This will be visible from JM Connect.
- Choose File/File URL - Upload a file from your computer/device or link to a video/image.
- There are no type or size restrictions when uploading files.
- Folder - Select the folder that the file will be uploaded to.
- Description - A short description of the media.
- File Tags - Short tags that define the media.
- Enable Generate Public QR Code.
- Select Save to add the file.
Printing QR Codes
- From the web, navigate to Tools > File Storage.
- Select the Files subtab.
- Select the Print Format in the dropdown menu. QRs can be printed 1"x1" or 2"x2".
- Select Print QR Codes to download the PDF file.
Best Practices
- Use cases include linking to:
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for supplies/equipment.
- Your company's website.
- Your Janitorial Manager Customer Portal.
- Instructional Media can be used for images and videos meant only for employees.
