Check for iOS Software Updates
iOS is the Software that Apple iPhones and devices run on. New iOS updates are still being released regularly by Apple, which can affect how apps on Apple devices perform.
Always make sure that your iOS software is up to date.
Open your iPhone and select the Settings app > Find and select General >
Select Software Update > It will either say "Your software is up to date." or an update will be available for download.
*Older phone models may have the most up-to-date software available for that device, but it may not be the most up-to-date version that newer models are able to run on.

Check your device against Compatibility Requirements
If any of your devices do not meet the compatibility requirements below, the device will not be able to download JM Connect.
Any app that runs on Apple devices is required to meet Apple's compatibility requirements. Compatibility requirements can sometimes change when new app updates are released, but compatibility requirements are ultimately determined by Apple, not by us.

Check for JM Connect App Updates
JM Connect was created by us, Double A Solutions, and we are always working to enhance and improve our apps, so we release new updates regularly!
Always make sure that your JM Connect app is up to date.
Open the App Store > Click the Search icon in the bottom-right corner >
Search for JM Connect > Select JM Connect from the search results >
If the blue button says Update, tap it to download the newest version > If the blue button says Open, you are on the newest version.
*Under What's New, the current app version number will always be listed with the amount of time since it became available to you in the app store.

Turn on Automatic Updates

Open the Settings app > Select App Store >
Turn ON the toggle switch for App Updates in the Automatic Downloads section

Turn on your device's Location Services
Make sure your device's Location Services are turned ON
This setting controls apps' abilities to request or access your device's location.
If it is turned OFF, no apps will be able to access any details about your device's relative location, including JM Connect.
This could potentially affect your connection with the Location when attempting to clock in or out on your device.
Turn on or confirm that Location Services are on for your device:
Open the Settings app > Select Privacy >
The Location Services option should say On > If it says Off, tap Location Services >
Tap the Location Services toggle switch to turn it ON
Location Alerts refers to a pop-up that will appear when an app has used your location "in the background" or while your phone was locked.
Tapping on Location Alerts gives you the option to include a map in the pop-up.
This will show you where the app has previously captured your location.

Check the app's Location Permissions
Our apps, like any other apps on iPhone, must meet the privacy, compatibility, and functionality requirements that Apple requires all of its apps to adhere to.
Apple's privacy settings offer multiple ways to allow apps to use your location.
For Clocking in and out, JM Connect must be granted access to your location "Always"
The names of these settings can be confusing and cause users to turn off location settings that are vital to the functioning of the app for clocking in and out.
We understand that allowing JM Connect to access your location "Always" makes it sound like JM Connect is going to track you everywhere you go no matter if you are on the job or not.
This is incorrect.
JM Connect does not "Always" collect, track, or store any of your personal device's data.
*The only location information JM Connect collects from your device is how close you are to the Geofence of the building you are clocking in and out from. This is what allows you to clock in and out.
Please click here for more information about our Privacy Policy.
Always Allow is not offered as an option when you first download the app. It must be turned on from within your settings.
Open the Settings app > Scroll down and select JM Connect to open the app's Permissions >
Location should say Always > If it says While Using, tap Location to edit the setting >
Tap Always from the list of options
Turn on Precise Location
This is an iOS setting that controls how Location Services searches for your location.
This toggle switch should be ON when you use JM Connect for clocking in and out.
The Location Alerts Pop-up gives you the option to continue to Always allow or change to Only While Using the app.
If you select Only While Using the app, you may experience interruptions when trying to clock in or out.
This is because the app will need to determine your location in order to connect you to the location's geofence, and it is unable to do so with the setting turned off.

Calibrating your Location
Since we are always on the go, and satellites above us are always moving, we may need to let our devices "catch up" to us when trying to use location-based services.
Location services try to connect your device with a few nearby cell towers in order to help determine where in the world you are.
To help your device find nearby towers, hold it out straight in front of you > slowly wave your device side to side > turn to your left or right > slowly wave your device side to side again
Tip!
Open your Maps app to see what your location shows you!

Turn on Notification Permissions
JM Connect offers a variety of notifications to help keep you connected.
Push notifications from JM Connect need to be turned on in your settings in order to receive the notifications outside of JM Connect.

If you chose Don't Allow, or you want to edit your Notification settings:

Turn on Camera Permissions

Turn on Photo Permissions
The Photo permissions can be turned on by attempting to attach a photo from your library for the first time on a message or a work order, or from the Settings app.

If you chose Don't Allow, or to turn on or edit the Photo permissions:
Open the Settings app > Scroll down and select JM Connect to open the app's Permissions >
Tap the toggle switch for Photos to select your photo permission settings >
Select All Photos to be able to choose any photo from your camera roll >
Choosing the Selected Photos option will allow you to choose specific photos on your device that the app can choose from when submitting a photo from your library.
*If you use the Selected Photos setting, you will need to come to this page each time you want to grant the app access to a new photo you have taken.
We recommend choosing All Photos since the app does not store or access any photos other than the ones you attach to your messages or work orders.

Disconnect from any Public Wi-Fi networks
Public Wi-Fi networks can be great when we are trying to save on our data usage.
But they can also cause slow connections, long loading times, and even app malfunctions in some cases.
The reasons are that the connection isn't secure, so anyone can use it, and there could be too many devices that are loading too much data at the same time and overloading the network.
Turn the Wi-Fi connection OFF if you are connected to a public Wi-Fi network and you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Open the Settings app > Select Wi-Fi >
The network you are connected to has a checkmark by the name > Tap the blue i icon on the far right >
Turn the Auto-Join toggle switch OFF if you don't want to be connected to this Public network automatically when you are in range >
Select Forget This Network if you no longer want to connect to this Wi-Fi network.
*Make sure the Low Data Mode toggle switch is turned OFF if you are planning to use this connection in the future.
(Click here to jump back to the top)
Turn on Cellular Data
If Wi-Fi is not available, the app will need to access some data in order to sync your daily activities with the rest of your company's account.
Check your data settings by opening the Settings app > Select Cellular >
Make sure that the toggle switch for Cellular Data is turned ON >
*If you have a limited data plan, check the Current Period amount under the Cellular Data section to ensure that you have data left on your plan that can still be used.
Scroll down further to confirm that data is turned ON for JM Connect > and check how much data it has used recently.

Close any unwanted browser tabs in the Safari app
The Safari app allows you to have multiple tabs open when searching the internet. Each tab that is open is trying to connect to the internet in order to refresh its contents.
If you have a large number of browser tabs running in the background, it could cause slowness in any app on your phone that connects to the internet.
Close browser tabs by opening the Safari app > Select the Tabs icon in the bottom right corner >
All open websites will be displayed in separate tabs > Close them by swiping left or clicking the x in the left corner of the tabs
(Click here to jump back to the top)
Clear browsing data

Open the Settings app > Select Safari >
Scroll Down and select Clear History and Website Data
(Click here to jump back to the top)
Check to confirm that the app wasn't automatically Offloaded
There is a setting on iOS that will automatically delete some unused apps from your device in order to make room for software updates or other downloads.
If JM Connect has the cloud symbol next to it, it has been Offloaded.
It will not function properly until it has been re-loaded onto your device.
Tap the icon to download, or open the Settings app > Scroll down and select JM Connect >
Select General >
Then select iPhone Storage >
Scroll down and select JM Connect >
If the app has been offloaded, select Reinstall App
To prevent this app from being Offloaded automatically in the future:
Open the Settings app > Select App Store >
Make sure the toggle switch for Offload Unused Apps is turned OFF
