Job Costing - Work Orders
Job Costing reports are used to view costs related to invoiced work orders. To access this feature, contact your account manager or support@janitorialmanager.com.
Enabling Job Costing
- On the portal site, go to Gear Icon > Manage Account.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Enable Job Costing, then Work Order.

Overhead Source

% of Labor - Uses the specified percentage of labor to calculate overhead costs.
- Accounting - Uses Overhead transactions in the Accounting module to calculate costs.

- Supply Cost Source

% of Labor - Uses a percentage of labor to calculate the supply cost.
- Accounting - Uses Supply transactions from the Accounting module to calculate costs.

Sending Data to Reports
When Work Orders are marked as Invoiced, data will automatically be pushed to job costing reports.
To mark a completed work order as invoiced:
- On the web portal, go to Work Management > Manage Work Orders.
- Select the Edit Pencil in the Actions column for a work order.
- Select the Actions tab.
- Select Mark Work Order Invoiced.
Job Costing Reports
To access reports:
- On the portal site, go to Reports > Work Order Job Costing.
Job Cost Summary Report
The Job Cost Summary report shows job costing sums for each location that had invoiced work orders within the selected date range. This report can be used to quickly see which locations have profitable services.

Total Labor Cost - Sum of the location's work order labor costs.
- Total Supplies Cost - Sum of the location's work order supply costs. This can be a percentage of the Labor Cost or pulled from Accounting.
- Total Job Cost - (Total Labor Cost) + (Total Supplies Cost).
- Revenue - Sum of the location's work order service fees.
- Gross Profit ($) - (Revenue) - (Total Job Cost).
- Gross Profit (%) - (Gross Profit) / (Total Job Cost).
Job Cost Detail Report
The Job Cost Detail report shows a breakdown of service costs by type.
Labor Cost Report
The Labor Cost report shows a breakdown of labor associated with work orders.
Supply Cost Report
The Supply Cost report shows a breakdown of supply costs associated with work orders.
Dashboard
The Job Costing Dashboard shows graphs for service profitability, revenue vs. total job costs, overhead allocation, and top clients by revenue.
