Using NFC Tags
Employees can easily scan NFC tags from JM Connect.
NFC tags must be registered to existing areas before they can be scanned. Click here to learn more about registering NFC tags.
Employee & Location Scan using NFC
- On JM Connect, select the NFC Scan icon.
- While on the Ready to Scan screen, tap your device on the NFC tag.
- If successful, the area checklist will be visible. Complete the checklist.
- Select the NFC Scan icon again to scan the next area and repeat from step #2.
Clocking In/Out using NFC
Enabling Clock In/Out using NFC
The following setting(s) must be enabled on an Area before the NFC can be used for clock in/out.
Enable Clock-in - Allows trained employees to scan the NFC to clock into the location.
Enable Clock-out - Allows trained employees to scan the NFC to clock out of the location.
Clocking In/Out
Clocking in/out with NFCs must be enabled for your account to use this feature. If you do not have access, contact a customer support representative or your account manager.
- On JM Connect, select the Clock In/Out icon.
- Select Clock In with NFC.
- While on the Ready to Scan screen, tap your device on the NFC tag.
- If successful, the user will be clocked into the location.
- To clock out, select the Clock Out button and tap the NFC tag when prompted.
Troubleshooting
If your device having difficulty scanning the NFC, please refer to the troubleshooting steps below.
- Move the device closer to the NFC tag/place the back of the device directly on the NFC tag.
- Slide the back of the device over the NFC tag until it scans.
- Remove any metal device cases.
- Check to see if the tag has been damaged (scratched, bent, torn, etc.).
- Ensure that the tag has been registered to an area.
- If using an Android, ensure that NFC is enabled on the device.
