The Invoice Management System is only available for accounts in the United States.
Adding Tax Groups
Tax groups organize rates for a specific area, like a state.
- On the web portal, go to Tools > Invoice Tax Group.
- Click + Add New Tax Group.
- Fill in the information. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
- Name* - The name of the tax group. This is typically the state name (ex. Ohio, Wyoming, Idaho, etc.).
- Description* - A short description of the tax group.
- Country* - United States only.
- Click Save to create the tax group.
Adding Tax Rates
Tax rates define sales tax for specific areas, such as cities or counties.
- On Tools > Invoice Tax Group, click the Edit Pencil in the Actions column on a tax group.
- Click + Add New Tax Detail.
- Fill in the information.
- Name* - The name of the tax rate. This is typically the city name or postal code.
- Rate (%)* - The value of the tax rate (ex. 7.5, 8).
- Start & End Date* - The tax rate will be valid within these dates.
- Click Save to add the tax rate.
Assigning Tax Groups
Tax groups can be assigned to customers and locations.
- When assigned to a Customer, all locations that belong to the customer will use that tax group.
- When assigned to a location, that location will use that tax group. Assigning a tax group at the Location level will override Customer-level settings.
Assigning to Customer
- On the web portal, go to Customers > Manage Customers.
- Click the Edit Pencil on a customer.
- Under General Information, choose an option from the Tax Group dropdown.
- Save the page to confirm changes.
Assigning to Location
- On the web portal, go to Customers > Manage Locations.
- Click the Edit Pencil on a location.
- Under General Information, choose an option from the Tax Group dropdown.
- Save the page to confirm changes.
